About

What is dotRadio?

.radio is a new top-level domain (such .com or .net) which is exclusively dedicated to radio stations, web radios, radio professionals, companies selling radio goods and services and radio amateurs.
The .radio TLD is one of the few recognized community-based resources representing the interests of around 65,000 radio stations, 60,000 web radios and others closely associated with the sector.

Why choose dotRadio?

Beneficiaries of this new TLD will benefit from a safe internet space where cybersquatting and speculators will be banned. It will bring them high visibilty.
This will progressively change the way people are reaching internet resources linked to radio.

You will see new kinds of urls:     www.102rainbow.adio , salsa1.radio , podcast.capital.radio , WA8UNS.radio (radio amateur)

or email addresses like:     alain.artero@team.radio , contact@peter-ellis.radio , giacomo.mazzone@ebu.radio

You may wish to consider securing the integrity of your web presence by requesting appropriate .radio domains for defensive reasons initially. The TLD will be focused on content and matters specific to radio; this extension will quickly become a high-value internet space for your website, your email system and other internet applications.

The following categories will be accepted for the use of a .radio domain:
  •    Radio broadcasting stations
  •    Broadcasting unions
  •    Internet radios
  •    Radio amateurs
  •    Radio professionals (journalists, radio hosts, DJs, …)
  •    Radio-related companies selling radio goods and services

World Radio Community

On behalf of radio organizations across the globe, the European Broadcasting Union has been given the responsibility to establish, develop and create the domain for the benefit of all involved in the world of radio. The EBU is taking on this task in collaboration with sister unions, and other industry bodies who will be involved in defining the norms for domain name allocation.
